Morgado do Reguengo was opened in February 2003 within a 980- hectare estate a few miles inland from Portimao. With views of the nearby Monchique hills, the complex will eventually house two golf courses and a 5- star hotels. The course was designed under PGA European Tour supervision it is one of the Algarve's longest courses; with 3 par-5's on the back nine. lenth 6,339 Metres.

This par 73 course is known by two distinguishing features large greens, and the deepness of its bunkers., 104 in total, which will punish a not so good shot. The water hazards are also in play, thanks to a lake that affects some of the holes.

Golfe do Morgado is supported by a club-house where golfers can find a bar, a restaurant and a pro-shop, you can also hire buggies and clubs.

This new golf course has a resident pro, Nélson Cavalheiro, former director instructor of David Leadbetter Academy. Players can also improve their game using the training facilities: a driving-range, with a chipping area, and one putting-green surface.

The course was opened in February 2003, which is the first step towards a golf complex where a second course will open shortly.

Driving Instructions:

Morgado de Reguengos, had a rather difficult (but pretty) route to reach it. Now a new, much more accessable entrance has been opened, just five minutes north of Portimao - and literally seconds from the A22. A new junction off the main EN124 road to Monchique has been constructed, as well as the new road to reach the course. It is estimated that this route reduces access time by around 15 minutes.
