During the summer of 2004 two new courses were designed by the well known golf company European Golf Design both courses are near Lisbon. Ribagolfe 1 and 2 are located near Santo Estevao, 30 minutes drive east of the city centre, across the spectacular Vasco D'Gamma Bridge.

Both courses are set within a forest of cork oak trees and the design makes full use of the sweeping undulations of the site, providing many spectacular golf holes across valleys and lakes.

European Golf Design worked in collaboration with former Walker and Ryder Cup player Michael King on Ribagolfe 2. At 6214 metres, par 72, Ribagolfe 2 has been designed as a high quality private members course and, like its sister course, winds its way through a forest of cork oaks, although the fairways are generally wider.

The undulating greens and pot bunkers create plenty of challenge while the introduction of streams and ponds on holes 6 and 13 provide additional hazards as well as adding to the visual aesthetics. The par 3's are particularly attractive, making the most of the existing contours to create tee shots which must be played over valleys.

Driving Instructions:

About 39 KMS East of Lisbon - take the A12 then take exit 1 on the IC13 towards Alcochete and continue on the N119 towards the direction of Infantado / Coruche. After about 22 KMS, before the roundabout of the A13 take a right at the Golf sign. From the A13 take the exit towards Montiji and at the roundabout go straight over towards Montiji from the roundabout the Golf course is approximatly 490 Metres on the left.
