CampoReal Golf Course and Resort was opened in May 2005 and is Located in the heart of Portugal’s rural “Oeste” (west) region, near Torres Vedras. Just 30-mins drive North from Lisbon and 15 mins from the the beach at Ericeira.
This is already known as Portugal’s most exciting golf and leisure development. The name translates literally as “The Royal Meadow”.
Designed by Donald Steel the famous golf course architect. It is surrounded by a number of hills which add to the beauty of the course.
The course covers an area of 55 hectares and is 6009 metres in length, and is surrounded entirely by well-appointed buggy paths. The change of levels also result in the course being a difficult, although not impossible course to walk. The greens, and fairways are in very good condition, and are kept to a very high standard.
Buggy paths are provided so that golfers can enjoy their round. The green surfaces also contain a significant amount of undulation. The greens are built to USGA specification to provide optimum conditions for growth and quick recovery after rain.
A luxury 5 star hotel adjoining the course, is currently under construction and is due to open in 2007. It will include the following facilities Spa, tennis academy, and a modern equestrian centre.
Driving Instructions:
The Course is about 40Kms North of Lisbon on the main motorway A8. When you get to Torres Vedras exit, drive about 2Kms to the Municipal Road 619-1 you will see a signpost for the resort on this road. The beach is 17Kms west at Ericeira. The new International Airport planned in Ota is about 20 mins drive to the east. |
